Charis Hospice’s Charity Run 2025 “Happy Feet 2.0 Striding for Palliative Care”

The Charity Run themed “Happy Feet 2.0: Striding for Palliative Care” was successfully held on April 19th, 2025, at Food Bayana, attracting a total of 931 registered participants and raising RM249,854 in support of palliative care services. The run was graciously flagged off by YB Daniel Gooi Zi Sen, EXCO Belia, Sukan dan Kesihatan Pulau Pinang, Dato’ Bandar Ir Rajendran, and En Harry Chai, Pengerusi MSNPP.

Charis Hospice’s 20th Anniversary, “Journeying Together for Palliative Care, 20 years and beyond”

We are pleased to share that our Anniversary Dinner held on November 30, 2024, at Lot 33, Prangin Mall, was an outstanding success! With over 400 guests in attendance, we enjoyed a delightful 7-course Chinese dinner. Through our collective efforts and the generosity of various individuals and companies, we successfully raised RM300,000. This achievement reflects not just our hard work but also the strength of our community and its dedication to palliative care. Let us continue to build on this success as we move forward together.

Charis Hospice Together We Care and Share Charity Hunt

Charis Hospice’s 10th Charity Hunt themed Together We Care & Share was organized successfully with 360 participants and nearly RM260,000 funds raised! We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors, donors, marshals, volunteers, photographers, and participants for their support!

We would also like to thank our generous donors whose support and donations have significantly impacted Charis Hospice and the patients we care for. Everyday Heroes Charity Photo Contest

In view of Covid-19 still being present in the first half of 2022, Charis Hospice organised our second-ever online charity photo contest with a fun yet meaningful theme to get our annual fundraising event kick-started!

Raising nearly RM170,000, the theme “Everyday Heroes” was adopted to align with our mission of providing effective palliative home care services and support to our patients and their families in their journey through illness and loss. No One Journeys Alone Photo Contest

In our first-ever Charity Photo Contest, we were successful in raising nearly RM200,000 for our operations, as well as awareness for palliative care. The contest received over 90 photo submissions from 17th to 21st May on the Charis Hospice Facebook Event Page where contestants had the opportunity to showcase their photography skills and their interpretation of what “No One Journeys Alone” means to them.

We received many creative submissions, with photos ranging from personal depictions of one’s Journey through Illness, to the Journey towards Change, through to the Journey of Life

CoronaCut Challenges

As we reflect on the challenges of 2020, we had to exercise our creativity during this unprecedented time. Although we had to cancel our primary fundraising event, the Charity Hunt, we pivoted to host the CoronaCut Challenge, and managed to raise RM81,000.

During the CMCO phase, our community rose to the occasion, to opt for a DIY hair cut challenge from home. The enthusiasm shown by our friends and supporters not only provided vital support for Charis Hospice but also brought joy and laughter as participants shared their transformed looks online.

We want to thank all our sponsors and donors for our recent fundraising 15th Anniversary Dinner held at Setia SPICE Convention Centre on the 12th Oct, 2019.It was truly a meaningful and wonderful evening with YB Dr Lee Boon Chye- Deputy Health Minister as our guest of honour.
