Charis Hospice was invited by Marlene and team to have a booth at the Christmas Charity Bazaar on the 25th November, 2017 at Straits Quay. Our craft team ladies were there to sell their beautiful handiwork specially made for Christmas. It was a great opportunity for the ladies to also promote their brand, Nek, which is short form for Nenek, meaning Grandma in English. Yes, we have powerful grandmas anchoring our craft team!And for the very first time, Charis Hospice managed to organize a line dancing event with Levin’s Line

Finally, the main trainers were able to come up with the Module 2 and we are proud to launch it on the 19th August, 2017! Charis Hospice and Friends of Seniors want to thank all the participants of Basic Caregiver’s training Module 2 for making it a success! The attendance was at maximum capacity.

The topics for Module 2 include transferring of patients on wheelchair to/from car, chest physiotherapy, perennial care and wound care. The participants had plenty of time for practical to try out some of the things taught to

Agilent and Charis Hospice embarked into a project together called the “Adopt A Patient” at their Bayan Lepas plant on the 16th and 23rd May, 2017.

The team and Agilent as a company managed to collect RM25,000 from the drive which will be channelled to needy patients who require subsidy for wound care, CBD kits, milk supplements and transportation cost for hospital beds as well as costs to cover the Home visits done by our nurses and doctor.

Charis Hospice Charity Hunt 2017-Discover Historical Penang was held on 22nd April, 2017. There were 115 teams for the Mall Hunt and 43 teams for the Motor Hunt. This year, the Mall Hunt was held at Gurney Plaza and was the biggest number of teams registered so far since the hunt started in 2006!

We had a total of 430 pax for our Hi-tea buffet held at Lot 33 and , YB Yap Soo Huey, Member of the Penang State Legislative Assembly for Pulau Tikus, was the guest-of-honour at the Hi-tea

Charis Hospice would like to thank the Neighborhood Performance Group for a wonderful drama yesterday evening at Komtar Auditorium A which emphasized the importance of accepting death & allowing our loved ones to die with dignity. Brilliantly performed.
We also want to take this opportunity to thank the Neighborhood Performance Group for the donation of RM5,000 which will help many who are in need of palliative care.

Charis Hospice is very grateful to be the sole beneficiary for the breast cancer awareness B.O.O.B.S project organized by the Hospitality students of Disted College. The event was held at Automall, located at Karpal Singh drive on 29th October, 2016 with YB Yap Soo Huey as the guest of honour. Despite the heavy downpour and flooding in Penang that night, the students persevered and overcame the situation well. Charis Hospice’s handicraft team was able to hold a stall at the recent Christmas Charity Bazaar held at Straits Quay on the 26th November, 2016.Our handicraft ladies were able to display all their beautiful Christmas handiwork for sale at the bazaar. They managed to raise around RM3,000 for Charis Hospice.
