Charis Hospice was invited by Marlene and team to have a booth at the Christmas Charity Bazaar on the 25th November, 2017 at Straits Quay. Our craft team ladies were there to sell their beautiful handiwork specially made for Christmas. It was a great opportunity for the ladies to also promote their brand, Nek, which is short form for Nenek, meaning Grandma in English. Yes, we have powerful grandmas anchoring our craft team!
And for the very first time, Charis Hospice managed to organize a line dancing event with Levin's Line Dance Group. We managed to get other line dancing groups to join in the fun to raise funds for Charis Hospice. We want to take this opportunity to thank all the line dancing groups who made it a success, namely, Levin & team, YMCA Penang, Cheers, Bukit Dumbar, Trinity Methodist Church, who partnered with us and practised for weeks to perform the line dance which lasted for an hour. It was a wonderful and fun way to spread the awareness and importance of palliative care to the public. Bravo everyone!
Last but not least, we want to thank the public for all the support given to our handicraft ladies and line dancing groups! All proceeds collected will be used to help the community in Penang who are in need of palliative care.
